WANDERLUST

When Tom and I met we had this massive idea/dream to see the world. Having both done our fair share of travelling individually we both felt there was so much more we wanted to see, and also experience together. Slowly throughout the last few years we have gradually begun to shape this idea into more of a reality, talking time scales, countries, and of course money! Until finally this Christmas we went ahead and booked.

Taking 14 months out of our careers to facilitate this was not a decision we made lightly. However, we both agreed that sacrificing this time, in order to quite literally see the world would be something we would look back on with absolutely no amount of regret, and with that being said the decision was made!

So, the itinerary looks like the following:

October 3rd of this year we head to India for just over a month, flying into New Delhi, where we will be making our way through Northern India via train, bus, rickshaw and tuk tuks down to Goa, then travelling around southern India.

We then fly from Goa to Kathmandu, Nepal. We will be spending a month here, where Tom will also be working in a hospital for a while too.

Then we are onto Bangkok, Thailand. We plan to spend around 3 months travelling around South East Asia through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia.

From Bali we fly into Cairns, Australia. Spending around 6 weeks on a hop on and off bus down the east coast, finishing in Melbourne.

Flying into Queenstown, in New Zealand's south island is next, then onto Rotorua in the north island then across to Hamilton and Auckland. Probably spending around 3-4 weeks all together exploring all things LOTR etc.

We leave Auckland and land in Santiago, Chile. Where we plan to spend around 2 months in South America. Starting in Chile, moving up into Peru where we will be doing the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (something I am so so excited for!) from there we cross over to Bolivia. Flying from there into Buenos Aires, Argentina then making our way into Uruguay and then up into Brazil, finishing in Rio.

Then we fly up to Reno, Nevada, USA. Here we will stay with my family for a couple of weeks before embarking on a 3 month road trip. Driving down through California, through the southern states and then up the east coast of America.

Our trip comes to an end in New York, where we plan to spend a week or so before finally flying back to London!

So there it is, 13 months, 17 countries.

NEW BALANCE

Re discovered my old pair of New Balance the other day and have fallen back in love with them. Kind of good to give the Superstars a break.

KYLIE LIP (ATTEMPT)

We all know Kylie Jenner has pretty much nailed the whole 'draw your lips on over botox' thing. But when I found this out I just didn't really know what to think... surely it just looks beyond ridiculous to draw past your lip line for bigger lips? I don't know how I feel about looking like a clown. But the other weekend I accidentally tried it, as in, I was a bit drunk when I was putting on my lipstick and went a bit over top, well over the lines. Then I just decided to embrace it. This was the result.... (apologies for the pouty selfies, as previously stated, I was a bit drunk and once I've had a drink I think I am actually Kylie Jenner.)

WORKWEAR

I usually wear black and black and navy and grey and white and black. At work I try to dress relatively comfortable. I'm still in love this these boots from Office I bought years ago in their sale. Then this oversize Topshop jumpsuit is a fail safe and looks good with pretty much anything. Also excuse the 0 make up effort. I get up at 5:30am and can rarely be bothered with make up for work!

HOME

I love my home so much. It's still not exactly how we would want it, but because we rent it's hard to make that happen. It feels so cosy and comfortable, and so warm. Because we are on the 12th floor we still haven't had to put the heating on, which is also amazing for my bank account.

CANDLES

So in love with these cute little initial candles I picked up from a little shop in Sheffield.

COORDINATES

The other day I finally received this beautiful bracelet. Tom ordered it for me as a surprise wedding gift to wear on the day itself. Unfortunately we had a lot of issues in the process, so it didn't arrive on time, but the beauty of it more than makes up for that.

Engraved on the outside are the coordinates to the church we were married in, and on the inside holds our initials and the wedding date. I am completely obsessed with it!

I really love the idea of using coordinates to personalise things, for bridesmaid gifts (without knowing about Tom's surprise present for me!) I also had coordinate bracelets made up for them, each one to an individual place that's special between them and myself. Then on the morning of the wedding they unwrapped them and googled the coordinates to find out the locations I picked! To be honest, they mostly guessed  before they managed to google! It was a really lovely moment.

Tom got my bracelet from Coordinates Collection a company based in LA. Although we had some troubles with our order, they were extremely kind and helpful in resolving the issues. And the bracelet itself is so stunning. Make sure you check them out!

LAZY SUNDAY

I love spending Sunday afternoons at home with my lovely husband. Such a good way to get set up for the week ahead.

MORE H&M

I wrote about finding some bargains in H&M earlier in the week, here are some more! This amazing jumper was only £20 full price. However, I have been told it resembles a straight jacket...... doesn't make me love it any less though. Then these beautiful wide leg black trousers were an amazing £10 from the sale dregs! Nothing more satisfying than finding an amazing bargain.

FANCIE

We went out for breakfast on Sunday morning with my parents who came up to visit. Sheffield is full of independent cafes, restaurants, boutiques etc. Which is one of the many reasons why I absolutely love it! Whenever my parents come to visit I like to take them to a new place every time. So this weekend we visited the newly re opened Fancie. The food and service was amazing, I loved it before, and definitely love it even more now. If you get the chance make sure you go down to Ecclesall Road to sample the food, coffee and cocktails!

SHADOWS

FIREWORKS

Last night we had some fireworks and sparklers at Tom's parents house. It's an annual birthday celebration for his brother, Matt. Lots of hot dogs, soup, baked potatoes, cake and tea. I love fireworks a lot, they make me cry quite a lot as well.

H&M

I dragged Tom around H&M for a good hour or so on Saturday. Recently I've found so many amazing items for so cheap! (You will see lots of them pop up over the next few weeks!)
I picked up this dress from the dregs of the sale, for £4!! Couldn't quite believe it when I saw the price!

TO INFINITY

Tom and I decided we wanted to start a collection of all the toys from Toy Story. So we started a tradition to buy one for each other on every birthday. It started with Woody on my birthday and then I got Tom Buzz for his. I think they are pretty additions to our home!

SIMPLE

I like to keep my house interiors simple with detailed elements. I take massive amounts of inspiration from Scandi designs, both in decorating and fashion. But let's be honest, who doesn't these days.

BARE LEGS IN NOVEMBER

I actually can't believe it's November and I'm not needing to wear tights yet. This is the best weather, where you can wear a couple of layers but a coat isn't completely necessary. 

I fell in love with this skirt ages ago when it was featured on a campaign at work. However it was £60, and I really couldn't justify it. Even with discount. Luckily it went into sale not too long ago, where I got it for £15. I may start wearing it everyday, as it is the perfect layering piece. Obviously along with Superstars.

CAMERA ROLL SURPRISES

I was looking through my camera roll this week and found lots of photos from our wedding night, (as strange as that sounds, not inappropriate, weird photos) We drank a lot of champagne, and so therefore a hotel room photo shoot was guaranteed.

SUPERSTARS

Last week I finally got round to buying some new Adidas Superstars. I had some in about 2001 and wore them every minute I wasn't at school, so wearing them now is like a weird flashback. I love them more this time round than I did the first. They quite literally go with every outfit, I even contemplated wearing them on a night out. (I didn't) however I feel I may need a superstar intervention soon.
